Women’s Barefoot Sandals Without a Toe Post
Hate toe posts? Try these barefoot sandals without one.
Toe posts can be polarizing—some people love them, some people can’t stand them. While there’s a good argument for toe posts on sandals (especially if you’re hiking or running in them, since they help secure the foot and allow for full toe splay), one of the reasons I love sandals is the variety of designs out there. It’s no fun to feel limited to just one or two styles.
In the barefoot shoe world, though, finding a sandal without a toe post that still fits well, doesn’t look overly wide, and feels good on the foot can be tricky. The width of the strap over the toes is especially important—what works for one foot type may not work for another. But good news: there are some great options out there. And to make things easier, some of them still have adjustable front straps, so they can fit a wider range of feet. And I’ve noted all the details you’ll need below, including if they’re a good fit for narrow, medium or wide width feet.
Here’s a round-up of a few of my favorite casual barefoot sandals without a toe post.
If you’re specifically looking for barefoot sandals like Birkenstocks, see the list here. And if you’re looking for hiking or running sandals, find them all here.

Narrow to Medium Width Feet
These barefoot sandals fit narrow to medium width feet best.

$150 | BSGVIVO15 for 15% off | EU35 – 43 | Best for: narrow to medium
Vivo’s latest sandal features thick leather straps and a fixed front that suits narrow to medium-width feet best. The ankle and heel straps adjust easily with velcro, while a lightly cushioned foam insole adds a touch of bounce. Code BSGVIVO25 for 25% off through June 2026.

$100 | EU36 – 43 | Best for: medium width
This is one of my top picks for a versatile leather sandal without a toe post. The width fits my medium feet perfectly, and the 8mm stack height adds just enough cushion. Wearing an EU37 for my 23.3cm foot.

$100 | EU36 – 43 | Best for: narrow
A newer strappy sandal from Groundies with a knit front strap that fits a little tighter than the Kos (the elastic strap feels a little tight on me). These can easily be dressed up with skirts or down with shorts or jeans. I wear an EU37.

$86 | Women’s US 5.5 – Men’s US14 | 7mm to 15mm | Best for: narrow to medium
Vibram SuperFlex soling and thicker leather insole for a slightly stiffer feel. Adjustable front leather strap to accommodate medium width, though the these do taper some, so my big toe overhangs the sole a bit.

$95 | Code: KELLY5 for 5% off | Sizes: EU36 – 43 | 4mm | Best for: narrow to medium
These simple z-strap sandals are casual and comfortable, with soft fabric straps and a leather footbed.

$95 | Code: KELLY5 for 5% off | Sizes: EU36 to EU43 | 4mm | Best for: narrow to medium
Simple, stylish sandal with an adjustable front strap. The footbed is narrow, but the top strap is adjustable for wider widths.

€79 | Code KELLYMUKI for 10% off | EU36 – 48 | Best for: narrow to medium
Teva-style sandal with a 6mm stack height, cork insole, and adjustable velcro straps.

$115 | Code KELLY for 10% off | EU35 – 42 | Best for: narrow
Vibram sole paired with soft nappa leather. These are best for narrow feet— I find them too narrow for my medium width feet. Available at PedTerra in the US.

$130 | Code KELLY for 10% off | EU35 – 42 | Best for: narrow to medium
Teva-style sandal with Vibram sole and vegan leather uppers. Three adjustable straps for a more versatile fit. Available at PedTerra in the US.

€125 | EU36 – 42 | Custom sizing available
Drifter leather makes made-to-order customizable barefoot shoes, including these T-strap sandals. I went with the standard size, which I found low volume and narrow. If you don’t have narrow feet, I’d recommend going with custom sizing.
Medium to Wide Width Feet
These barefoot sandals fit medium to wide width feet best.

$109 | Code: KELLY5 for 5% off | Women’s US 5.5 – Men’s US14 | 5mm: | Best for: medium to wide
Dressier sandal with shimmery straps in white and rose gold that start at around 10cm in width, even for the smaller sizes. Sole is very flexible, which has resulted the front catching a few times, which tears up the soft leather.

€95 | Code KELLYMUKI for 5% off | EU36 – 48 | Best for: wide width
Birkenstock-style sandals with 6mm stack height and cork insole covered by suede. Adjustable, soft suede straps. Find more Birkenstock-style sandals here.

€95 | Code KELLYMUKI for 5% off | EU36 – 48 | Best for: wide or extra wide width
Cross strap sandal in super soft coral suede or black leather with a leopard footbed. These are so soft and flexible, they almost feel more like a house slipper. They’re best suited to wide or extra wide feet as I find my medium width shifting forward often.

$51 | Code KELLY15 for 15% off | EU36 – 44 | Best for: medium to wide
More affordable sandal included here, though not as high of quality materials as other options on the list. Both straps are adjustable with velcro. Come in gold and silver, and two different thickness options. 20% off with code KELLY20 for first-time customers.

$119 | Code KELLY for 10% off | EU37 – 47 | Best for: medium to wide
Three adjustable leather straps make these easier to fit a lot of foot shapes, widths and volumes. I wear an EU38.

€89 | Code KELLYLANGS for 15% off | EU36 – 43 | Best for: medium to wide
Adjustable front strap with wide footbed. 5mm rubber outsoles topped with veg-tannedLeather footbed.

$189 | Code KELLY10 for 10% off | EU37 – 44 | Best for: medium to wide
Vegan leather sandals with crystal decoration. Comes in two different thickness options. Also available in black.

$100 | Code KELLY10 for 10% off | Sizes: EU37 – 48 | Best for: medium to wide
Another Birkenstock-style sandal with 2mm full grain, unlined leather uppers (beware, these do color transfer the first few wears). Total stack of 11mm consists of a 1.5mm rubber outsole topped with 9.5mm of foam. Shop Freet EU or Freet UK. Run slightly long, I’m wearing an EU37.

$130+ | Women’s US 5.5 – Men’s US14 | 7mm to 15mm | Best for: medium to wide
Birkenstock-style sandals with stack heights ranging from 7mm to 15mm. Thick leather with adjustable buckle straps. Fits medium to wide width.

$80 | EU35 – 42 | Best for: medium
Sportier sandals with adjustable velcro straps and lightly cushioned footbed. Also available at REI.

$80 | US Women’s 5-13 | Best for: Extra wide
Softstar sandals come in several shapes and widths; this extra wide version is the Hybrid Wide sole. The Dahlia sandal has a natural bullhide leather outsole that molds to your foot for a very barefoot feel, and thick, full grain leather straps.
Final Thoughts
If toe posts just aren’t your thing, you don’t have to sacrifice comfort, foot health, or style to avoid them. While it can take a little more digging to find barefoot sandals that check all the boxes and skip the toe post, I hope this list shows that it’s totally doable, especially with the growing list of barefoot shoe brands and styles. Getting the right width and volume is particularly important when you’re trying to get that barefoot fit, and adjustable options can make that a little bit easier. I hope this list helps you find a pair (or two!) of barefoot sandals without a toe post that you’ll love wearing all season long. And if you’re exclusively looking for Birkenstock-style sandals, check out the complete of barefoot versions here.
